November 2025 opens in Como with a rich calendar of cultural events.
From literature to contemporary art, passing through photography and music, the city and surrounding towns host exhibitions, talks and presentations bringing together authors, artists and enthusiasts.

Carlo Galante and Como’s history in “Pagine Comasche”

The publishing house Nodolibri presents “Carlo Galante, Pagine comasche. Vicende, luoghi, personaggi nella storia e nell’arte”, a volume collecting articles published between 1981 and 2023 in magazines such as Economia Lariana, Como, Broletto and La Provincia.
The book is a journey into the memory of the territory, between history and literature.

“A work of this kind,” explains the author, “stands halfway between history and literature. Each idea arose from an event, an exhibition or a simple excursion, always driven by the inner need to share knowledge through writing.”

November 4 – “Quel che resta di Como”

At 3:00 PM, meeting with Marco Guggiari and Carlo Pozzoni, presenting their book “Quel che resta di Como”.
A deliberately provocative title inviting reflection on what the city has achieved – and what still remains to be enhanced – through works, symbols and places of memory.

November 6 – “Peripezie tra i libri”

Final meeting of the cycle curated by Chiara Milani, dedicated to the thousand-year history of the Como Library.
Theme of the day: What will Como’s library look like in the future?
An interactive moment to imagine tomorrow’s library, inspired by models from around the world.

November 6, 5:30 PM – “Da Colico… un mondo nuovo”

With ExpoMus, part of the series The Interview. The Profession of Music, curated by Francesca, Benedetta and Giorgio Senese.
The talk recounts the birth of the Festival Musica sull’Acqua, founded twenty years ago in Colico by violinist Francesco Senese together with his family of musicians.

Villa del Grumello – “Al limite, un libro!”: four Sundays of culture

The literary Sundays at Villa del Grumello return with the series “Al limite, un libro!”, dedicated to the theme of socio-environmental limits.
The meetings, free of charge with reservation via
www.villadelgrumello.it, will take place at 11:00 AM.

November 2 – Daniele Balicco presents “Letteratura e mutazione. Pier Paolo Pasolini, Ernesto De Martino, Franco Fortini”.
November 9 – Francesco Zamboni presents “Giacomo&Giacomo – Matteotti e il coraggio della verità”.
November 16 – Paolo Boccagni with “Vite ferme. Storie di migranti in attesa”.
November 30 – TRA. Prossimità, distanze, presentation of the journal Magazzini Mechrí 0/2025.

All meetings include open discussions with the audience.

Tavernola – Sculpture Exhibition at the Civic Library

The Circolo Culturale Tavernolese presents an exhibition dedicated to sculpture and its working techniques, hosted at the Tavernola Library, via Polano 63.

The opening is scheduled for Friday, October 31, 2025 at 6:30 PM, with an introduction by Elena Isella.
The exhibition will be open until November 16, with free admission.

Exhibiting artists:

• Vito Valentino Cimarosti, sculptor and teacher, known for the statue of George Clooney in Laglio;
• Nicoletta Brenna, architect and engraver, with plexiglass sculpture-installations;
• Jo Taiana, multidisciplinary artist, with terracotta works finished with pigments.

During the exhibition, videos about stone carving and metal forging will be screened.

Poesia dei Lunatici – A night dedicated to the spoken word

The Gruppo Letterario Acarya opens its space in via Grandi, Como, for a special evening: “Poesia dei Lunatici”.
An event open to members and non-members alike, where poetry becomes ritual, freedom and sharing.

From 9:00 PM, the lights dim and words become voice: anyone can take the stage and read their own verses.
It is not a competition, but a moment of free expression where the literary community meets those who dare to speak and share emotions.
