Lorenzo Riva’s art exhibition in the silk museum in Como
The silk museum of Como from 29 October 2019 to 31 March 2020 presents the exhibition “the master is in the soul. Lorenzo Riva– fifty years of high fashion ”
The event was organized and curated by Paola Aquilini and presents the works of the “monzese” stylist famous all over the world for having dressed the most prestigious brides of the international jet set and some of the most famous actresses of the face of cinema such as: Isabella Rossellini, Penelope Cruz, Jerry Hall, Chiara Mastroianni and many others.
Also known for his various cinematographic collaborations as in the films: “I panni sporchi” by Monicelli in 1999, “Il tempo delle mimosa” by Bracco in 2013 and “The best offer” by Tornatore in 2015.
One wing of the exhibition is dedicated to the collaboration with the artist Mimmo Rotella, protagonist of the artistic scene of the second half of the 20th century. His figure is associated with the movement of Nouveau Réalisme and international Pop Art.
The clothes presented are a reworking of the artist’s famous paintings and some of the most famous décollages in the world.
The event wants to represent, through sketches, photographs, drawings, clothes and international press review, the fifty years of activity in the fashion of the designer.
An exhibition not to be missed, which reminds us of the importance of Como for silk worldwide.
The designer says he is very attached to the city for the fabrics, for the relaxation and inspiration that the landscape offers him
