Until February 16, 2020, the Museum of Villa Bernasconi will host the interesting exhibition entitled “Marcello Dudovich (1878-1962). Photography between art and passion”.

WHO IS MARCELLO DUDOVICH

Born in Trieste and international by vocation, he was a successful illustrator and poster designer.
Marcello Dudovich was one of the most important references in the history of the manifesto. We mention – just to name a few – the engaging posters for the Mele warehouses in Naples, for Borsalino, the Rinascente in Milan, Campari, Martini, Agfa film, Pirelli.

THE EXHIBITION

Seven large posters will be displayed in the music room and in the dining room of Villa Bernasconi.
Among the works in the exhibition:

the fashion brand “Mele & C. Napoli”;
the beautiful lithograph of 1908 “Eleganti novità – mode. Massimo buon mercato”.

On the first floor, on the other hand, in the Stanza delle Bernasconi, the rare poster “Onoranze a Volta on the Centenary of the Pila”, created by Dudovich for the reopening of the Voltiana exhibition at the Teatro Sociale in Como in 1899 (loan from the Palchettisti Society of Teatro Sociale di Como, founded in 1764 and still active in promoting culture and music in Como).

The exhibition on Marcello Dudovich is curated by Roberto Curci and Nicoletta Ossanna Cavadini.
