Ritratti in Musica Oggi at Villa Bernasconi – When Music Becomes Image
Twelve artists, one villa and a story told through images: Ritratti in Musica Oggi arrives in Cernobbio
From October 17 to December 1, 2025, the Music Room of the Museo di Villa Bernasconi hosts the photographic exhibition Ritratti in Musica Oggi, promoted by the Municipality of Cernobbio.
The project, conceived and curated by Como-based photojournalist Carlo Pozzoni, weaves together photography, sound and memory in an emotional journey dedicated to contemporary creativity.
A dialogue between music and photography
The exhibition presents twelve portraits of contemporary musicians, dancers and singers who have “inhabited” Villa Bernasconi with their art.
Each portrait is accompanied by a short text recounting the personal connection between the artist and the villa, a place where art, history and inspiration meet.
Featured artists include Fabio Borghetti, Giulia Cavicchioni and Il Baule dei Suoni, Gigliola Foglia, Matteo Giudici, Sergio Guatterini, Daniela Morittu with her harp students, Floraleda Sacchi, Victoria Saldarini, Ivanna Speranza, Monica Zhang, as well as the music teachers of the Don Umberto Marmori School of Cernobbio: Andrea Colombo, Aldo Guarisco, Chiara Imbasciati, Antonietta Loffredo, Simone Mambretti, Rossella Rizzuto, Lorenzo Peccedi and Alessio Pedretti.
Special guest Davide Bernasconi, known as Van De Sfroos, also takes part. In his contribution, the singer-songwriter recalls the emotion of seeing his name on the façade of the Cernobbio kindergarten when he was a child.
A visual and sound experience
Complementing the exhibition is a playlist of pieces performed or composed inspired by the villa.
Historic photographs from the Fondazione Arte Nova, donated in 2023 during the exhibition Ritratti in musica tra Ottocento e Novecento, will also be projected.
These images tell the story of the 19th- and early 20th-century fashion of posing with musical instruments, creating an ideal bridge between past and present.
Visitors are invited to actively participate by sharing their own portrait on social media using the hashtag #ritrattinmusicaoggi.
