Among all the sites that we can <strong><\/strong>visit along this large branch of routes, the most important, and the most representative, is the famous <strong>Baradello<\/strong>Castle, which has become a <strong>symbol<\/strong> of the city of Como.<br \/>\nBut let&#8217;s go step by step and <strong><\/strong> get inside this archaeological and natural heritage. The park extends from east to west, starting from the Comasca plain and touching the territories of San Fermo of the battle, Cavallasca, Monte Olimpino and, of course, Como. In its northernmost parts, however, a large part of the park skirts the Swiss border.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>THE PARK<\/h2>\n<p>The Spina Verde Park presents itself as a park full of <strong>history<\/strong> and natural paths, expertly mixing <strong>nature<\/strong> and <strong>culture.<\/strong> In addition to the Baradello Castle, the undisputed protagonist among the various sites present, it is necessary to remember that along all the trails you can admire sites of great historical interest, from the remains of the <strong>pre-Roman<\/strong> Como to the <strong>trenches<\/strong> dating back to the great war. Starting from the oldest history you can discover the testimonies of the first inhabitants of Como: the <strong>Celtic<\/strong> civilization of Golasecca. Proceeding instead in chronological order you also have the opportunity to visit the ancient village of <strong>Pianvalle,<\/strong>admiring the sacred area and the so-called &#8220;rooms&#8221; of living.<br \/>\nGoing back to the most recent history, especially in the northernmost parts of the park, you will be able to admire what remains of the military fortifications built at the beginning of <strong>the First World<\/strong>War.<br \/>\nThe value of this park is not limited to the archaeological one; If you have no particular interest in visiting these numerous historical sites, nothing forbids you to walk the <strong>13<\/strong> main trails simply to take a walk in total <strong>relaxation.<\/strong> Spina Verde develops in fact among evocative vantage points, areas equipped for gymnastic scans and <strong>dining<\/strong>options.<br \/>\nCombining relaxation, fitness, and history, the Spina Verde park lends itself to being the ideal solution for an afternoon of culture, but also simply to spend a family day in total relaxation.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>THE CASTLE<\/h2>\n<p>Without a doubt, Castle Baradello is the most <strong>important<\/strong> attraction in the park. Located essentially above Como, the Baradello offers the opportunity to enjoy a vast <strong>panorama<\/strong> ranging from the areas of Lake Como and Switzerland to the Valley of the Po, also reaching the <strong>Milan<\/strong>skyline. The construction of the castle dates back to the period of the high <strong>Middle<\/strong>Ages, approximately between the 5th and 7th centuries, but in <strong>1127,<\/strong>at the end of the decade-long war between the free communes of Como and Milan, the castle and all its walls suffered extensive <strong>damage <\/strong>, essentially bordering on the demolition. The reconstruction and <strong>restoration<\/strong> of the castle took place from the alliance between Como and Federico Barbarossa, who from <strong>1158<\/strong> promulgated a plan to rebuild and reorganize the city and its walls. Further expansions were made in the <strong>viscounty<\/strong>age, until the castle fell into <strong>disuse<\/strong> in 1521 and Antonio De Leyva ordered its demolition, saving only the famous <strong>tower.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe last private property of the castle was that of <strong>Teresa Rimoldi,<\/strong>who in the absence of herodes decided to legally <strong>donate<\/strong> the castle to the city of Como.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>THE MUSEUM<\/h2>\n<p>Today, the castle&#8217;s new architectural layout makes it present itself as a &#8220;<strong>time tower<\/strong>&#8220;. Today the tower is used as <strong><\/strong>a real museum, which collects inside the numerous <strong>artifacts<\/strong> recovered in the surrounding areas.
